Reduce your cable bill to $20/month.....and keep ESPN....

Matt GComment

There is now a new option to get cable television for $20/month from Dish Network.  It includes about 14 cable channels (ESPN, TBS, TNT, AMC, Disney Channel, ABC Family, and others) through the internet.  It does require a good internet connection, an antenna, and a device that streams internet to your TV.  The benefit is a significantly lower bill each month and multiple options to watch tv (on any mobile device).

2 Options to Protect Yourself after Anthem Hack.....

You hear a lot about credit monitoring, but most of them cost money.  Well, a website called Credit Karma offers free monitoring and provides your (real) credit score for free.  Check it out at creditkarma.com.  The other, and best, option is to freeze your credit.  This stops criminals from trying to open credit as if they were you.  Some states offer this for free, but you can check it out by searching "how to freeze my credit".  Just make sure you freeze your credit with all three credit bureaus (Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian).

Have you noticed all the cell-phone commercials? Why are cell-phone companies working so hard to get you to switch?

Matt GComment

You guessed it.....the price of cell-phone service is about to drop over the next 6-12 months, so they want you to sign a contract with them before the price drops.  So regardless of the deal you get, wouldn't you rather go non-contract and save money as prices go down?  Consumer report did the math, and they recommend going with a full-priced phone with a non-contract carrier to save up to $1,000 over two years......

Is the new Amazon Fire TV device really worth the money....?

Matt G1 Comment

The new Amazon Fire TV is a really cool device, that allows you to stream Amazon videos, Netflix, Hulu Plus, and WatchESPN.  It also comes with a remote you can use with voice commands.  My perspective is that if you don't already have a another device like a Roku or Apple TV, then it might be worth it.  Especially if you are not an Amazon Prime member, since they are including a free one year membership.  I would put this device as #2 or #3 best device to stream video directly to your tv.  Why isn't it #1........?

We tend to forget how much we spend on monthly phone service or cable tv.  Cell phone service providers make more money giving away phones because they make up the money with higher monthly charges.  Isn't it time to lower your bill......?

Can you believe you can get cell phone service for as low as $15 per month?
